Third Extension Stage of Vienna Underground

In the course of further network extension, Vienna Lines, the operators of Viennese underground, trams and buses, intended to install digital communication, signalling and information systems.
Austroconsult rendered consultancy services for requirements assessment and elaboration of specifications and was involved in test regimes and controlling.

RFID Road Traffic Applications Test Project

Lab tests and a pilot test concerning active and passive RFID systems were carried out to assess suitability for use in different areas of application.
Austroconsult elaborated the test arrangement concept, co-ordinated all parties involved and took over test monitoring and documentation as well as compilation and analysis of test results.

SCADA System for Road Tunnel Surveillance

For the surveillance of more than twenty road tunnels, a centralised control system was to be established. The SCADA system is located in the integrated command and control centre for emergency services.
Austroconsult, the expert planner of the SCADA system, performed services such as survey of existing installations, detailed planning, specifications, etc.

Road Traffic Control and Urban Security

The municipality intended to introduce a new concept concerning road safety (e.g., speed monitoring), fee parking and security for the towns inhabitants and businesses.

Road Pricing / Toll System

The ASFINAG, the Austrian Motor- and Expressway Financing Corporation, planned to introduce a toll collection system for lorries in the Unterinntal, on one of Austrias most frequented motorway sections.
Austroconsult was contracted for the technical engineering of the toll, electricity, communications and electronic data processing lots.

Command and Control / Integrated Operation Centre

The Regional Government / Fire Brigade being responsible for the provinces civil defence activities planned to renew their entire communication systems for voice, data and alarm functions.
Austroconsult was the consultant for the project and was engaged in planning, tendering, supervision and commissioning.

Digital Trunked Radio System
